Citizens Advice

Citizens Advice Devon provides a free, impartial and confidential service to everyone.

Temporarily close our face-to-face services in our Paignton. We still continue to deliver our service through our enhanced Adviceline but would first ask that you visit for initial advice and information.

We are Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health

We are asking that visitors do not attend any of our treatment centres. This includes veterans, who will receive their treatment and support off-site.
Our 24-hour Helpline 0800 138 1619 will remain open to provide confidential advice and support to veterans and their families.

This is a free 44-page PDF booklet supported by Mind, Rethink, CAPUK and others, for people with mental health problems and those caring for them.


Nightline is a student listening service which is open at night and run by students for students. Every night of term, trained student volunteers answer calls, emails, instant messages, texts and talk in person to their fellow university students about anything that’s troubling them.

We offer support with:
•Legal – family, civil, court proceedings, child arrangements, divorce
•Relationship breakdowns
•Protection from domestic abuse
•Consumer advice
•Benefits advice, claims and appeals

We are offering the following free services ;
•Running our helpline for advice and signposting re housing, benefits, employment and family queries (child arrangements etc).
•Support to access the court and referrals for people and children at risk of harm.
•Regular check ins with existing isolated clients for company and putting them in touch with volunteers if they need food and medicine etc.
•Assisting people who need to attend court hearings remotely.

Our counselling service is working on a telephone support line for people who need emotional support but that’s not quite up and running yet.
