We provide a range of free and confidential information, advice and support services to children and young people aged 8–17.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

Provides emotional and mental health assessment and treatment to children, young people, aged 0-18 years, and their families/carers.
Also support to professionals, such as school staff, GPs and school nurses who are working with children and young people within Torbay.
Referrals into the service are accepted from GPs, professionals, parents/carers and children/young people themselves. GPs can advise patients to self-refer or make a referral on behalf of their patients. All referrals are screened within 24 hours of being made and urgent clinical needs identified and responded to on same day as referral. GP, parents, young people and professionals can phone in for pre-referral support and advice.

Family Information Service

Useful information for parents and carers of 0-19 year olds and are the definitive source of registered childcare in Devon. We can also provide information on other services and support for children, young people and parents.

Kooth

Kooth, from XenZone, is an online counselling and emotional well-being platform for children and young people, accessible through mobile, tablet and desktop and free at the point of use.

NSPCC

Phone: 0800 1111 for Childline for children (24-hour helpline)

Get help and advice about a wide range of issues, talk to a counsellor online, send Childline an email or post on the message boards.

Young Devon is the largest young people’s charity in the South West. Support with skills, wellbeing, voice and accommodation.

Our counsellors are still contactable, delivering our Wellbeing services over the phone or by video-call. If you are struggling, and need to talk to someone.

We are no longer able to offer Wellbeing support, Skills training sessions or drop-in appointments in person.

Despite this, we’re doing everything we can to still support all of our Young People and their loved ones during this difficult time, and are putting in place new measures in different formats.
