Dr Michael Dixon LVO, OBE
Michael has held numerous national leadership roles including:-
The first Chair of NHS Alliance (1998-2016) President of NHS Clinical Commissioners and as a leader within the GP/clinical commissioning movement.
He is currently Chair of the College of Medicine, National Clinical lead for Social Prescription (NHS England), Senior Partner at The Culm Valley Integrated Centre for Health and Medical Advisor to HRH The Prince of Wales.
He is Visiting Professor at University College London and the University of Westminster, a Senior Fellow in Public Policy (University of Birmingham) and an Honorary Senior Fellow Lecturer (Peninsula Medical School Exeter).

Ray with nursing students Sarah Phillips and Joy O’Gorman, and EPIC team members Lloyd Taylor and Toni Page will be talking about Making good use of ‘digital’
They will review the potential of using apps, devices, and robotics in health and social care, particularly focussing on primary care and care homes. They will talk about how nursing students and Healthwatch volunteers as Digital Health Champions can ensure equitable and efficient use of such technologies. During the break after the presentation there will be demonstrations for those who want to ‘play’ with the robots and other technologies.
Liz Scott & students from St. Peter’s School, Exeter
Co-Founder of Inner Compass
Inner Compass is a business that focusses on resourcefulness and resilience through coaching, training and public speaking.
Liz is a wellbeing coach, working with leaders and businesses. She also runs wellbeing projects within the community. Last year she, along with a group of like-minded volunteers, ran a conference about mental health and young people. The Resilient Young Minds conference was a sell-out and was live-streamed across the world.
Since then, a small legacy fund from the conference has been re-invested into two school communities. Liz, along with other trainers, have been running projects to create wellbeing ambassadors within education. These ambassadors are supporting other students in their school through connecting and listening for wellbeing.
Liz is a former BBC reporter and continues to utilise her radio broadcasting skills through podcasting and blogging. She loves Dartmoor, walking and nature and is writing a book called the ‘Inner Compass’. Her real passion is about creating mentally healthy communities with the focus on young people.
Liz will be joined by leaders and young people from the schools that have been working with.

We anticipate a Market Place of up to 40 exhibitors displaying the latest in health and care products and services. There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the day for visitors to interact with exhibitors.

The day will be varied, in the morning you will have the opportunity to listen to speakers who will invite us to rethink health and care in our community. During the afternoon you can visit the exhibitor market place and discover the latest in health products, services and technology. Also, there is the chance to join in with fun and interactive taster sessions delivered by skilled and talented people from all over Devon. Everything from belly dancing, yoga for all, mindfulness and more. Perhaps you will discover new ways to make new friends, improve your fitness and improve your wellbeing that you hadn’t considered before.
